Photo by Staff Sgt. Torri Savarese: Alex Coffelt, daughter of Col. Christopher Coffelt, 90th Missile Wing commander, explains the historic social customs associated with Quarters 117, home of the Coffelt family, during a Historic Homes Tour, July 22. The tour, which featured three of F. E. Warren’s historical homes, was sponsored by the Warren Spouses Club, and was part of the base’s annual open house, Fort D.A. Russell Days.

Each year the base takes a step back in time with the annual Fort D.A. Russell Days celebration, which included the 41st Annual Warren Spouses’ Club Historic Homes Tour.

These historic homes are one of the prized assets of F. E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyo., and the primary focus is to educate the community about the history of the base and the homes. This is done by allowing the community to tour the “Bricks” during the first Sunday of Cheyenne Frontier Days.

This year is the 41st Annual Historic Homes Tour took place July 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Three of the finest homes were displayed, and showed a wide range of architectural interest, as well as showcased homes built in 1909, 1910, and 1932. Homes featured on the tour this year included Quarters 131, Quarters 117, and Quarters 93.
