Put on your walking shoes and celebrate the Wyoming State Parks 75th Anniversary with the Historic Governors’ Mansion Around the Block Walking Tour, 10 am. Built in 1904, the Historic Governors’ Mansion was built in a middle class neighborhood, reflecting the down to earth quality of Wyoming and its politicians. Over the years, changes to the neighborhood have brought about new structures and new styles, but many of the homes in the area remain original to the turn of the century. Bring the family and take this guided walking tour of the Historic Governor’s neighborhood and learn which homes stood the test of time, their histories and some fun architectural details! “This is a great way to get outside and enjoy a summer morning while learning about the history of a great Cheyenne neighborhood,” says Superintendent Christina Bird. Free and open to the public, please RSVP to Stephanie Lowe, 777-7878. Tour length, approximately 30-45 minutes. This Kids Extreme program funded through State Parks and Cultural Resources.
