These events are free and open to the public. Unless noted otherwise, events take place in the Laramie County Library’s meeting rooms, 2200 Pioneer Avenue in Cheyenne. METAL INKorporated Exhibition

Art created by University of Wyoming metalsmithing and printmaking students is on display on the first floor. The pieces were created as collaborations between the metalsmithing and printmaking classes and the artists. (1st floor exhibition cases and picture rails)

Science Unraveled with Tom Farrell – Please Sign Up

Join science educator Tom Farrell with a hands-on program where you get to be the scientist and compare humans to owls – you’ll unravel the eating habits of owls and discover how these magnificent creatures live and eat. Teen Rock Band Tournament

Come rock out at the library! Participate as a band or with an assigned band. You’ll sign up for different brackets based on your instrument (bass, guitar, drums, vocals). Bracket winners receive a $3 gift card to The Library Café and overall tournament winner gets a $10 gift card to Barnes & Noble. (Grades 7-12, Sage Room, 2nd floor)

Let us help! Register for a 15-minute, one-on-one session and our team of talent will help you as much as possible. The computer classroom in the library on the third floor has 12 computers. Twelve sessions are available when the class is held on Wednesdays and six on Saturdays. Please provide your question when registering so our staff has time to conduct research, if necessary. A fun new book will be featured each day around which activities will be focused on literacy concepts. Motor and sensory skills will also be highlighted. In this basic workshop we explore what the Internet is and what is needed to get connected to the Internet (ISP and browser). We demonstrate with Internet Explorer and explain that there are other browsers. Teens are encouraged to bring printed images or a thumb drive with digital images to use on their design. In this basic workshop we use Gmail and practice email accounts. Come to a make-believe camp-out with many of the trimmings! Hear about campfire/forest fire safety and camping in the wilderness from Smokey Bear or Woodsy Owl. Bring your camp chairs and sit around the campfire for an evening of stories, camp songs and a bear hunt! We’ll also be making s’mores and a campfire craft.
